Too often we find ourselves in states of complete hopelessness. We hit this block where we live just to live, not to be alive. Living loses life.
We’ve all heard it over and over: God works in mysterious ways. Sometimes you need a long series of bad experiences to make the ending of your story just as sweet. It’s not very often we internalize that though.
Too often we find ourselves in states of complete hopelessness. We hit this block where we live just to live, not to be alive. Living loses life. We lose hope in hope itself. We forget that it is only when the night is darkest that the night begins to glow brighter. Once you’ve hit rock bottom, you can only go up.
But I also think one of the scariest positions to be in is knowing that this is not rock bottom. Things can be, and probably will be, so much worse. It’s terrifying to know that while, yes, time will heal, the sand in the hourglass has just begun its journey down.
It’s in those times that you need to be reminded of Allah’s mysterious plans. It’s in those times that you need to be reminded of the ayahs in Surah Duha when Allah says, “And indeed the end is better than the beginning. And We will most definitely give you something you will be fully pleased with.”
Everyone has a struggle. One thing I always try to keep in mind is that what struggles seem small to me may be someone else’s heaviest burden. Regardless, Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear… which means that Allah created you so strong, and Knows that you are so strong, that He Knew you can handle this burden. Have faith in Him. Have faith in His plans. Have faith in the beautiful end that awaits you.
